Three Minute Thesis (3MT®)
Following on from the success of our inaugural 2025 competition, we are excited to announce that UniSQ is participating in the again in 2024. This is the chance for doctoral students (who have completed their confirmation of candidature) to enter a competition where they could go on to represent UniSQ, with national and international recognition, prize money, and new audiences for their research.
The Three Minute Thesis competition celebrates the exciting research conducted by doctoral students. Developed by The University of Queensland, 3MT® cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills.
The competition supports their capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. All participants in the UniSQ 3MT® Competition will benefit, gaining skills in communicating and disseminating your research.
UniSQ will award the following prizes:
1st Prize: $1000* and representing UniSQ in the 2025 Virtual Asia-Pacific 3MT® Competition
2nd Prize: $500*
People's Choice: $250*
*To be spent on research related activities.
